I’ve been monitoring those stats for several years and publishing my pwn insights in various blogs and sites. In 2017 I predicted the 30% milestone will be reached in April 2018!

The growth rate for the last two years is increasing. In February 2016 WordPress reached the 26% milestone. Eight months later, in October 2016, WordPress reached the 27% milestone. After seven more months, in May 2017, it passed the 28% market share. Six months after, in November 2017, the 29% market share was reached. Five months later, WordPress reached the 30% market share.

Future Growth

Here are my predictions: with the current growth rate, 31% market share will be reached in August 2018. By the end of the year WordPress will reach 32%. And by mid/end of 2019 WordPress will reach the 35% milestone.
