Closed WordPress Trac Tickets by Version
Data Sources
The raw data for this chart is based on WordPress Core Trac. Each ticket is an issue or several issues solved by the developers.
This chart sums up the total number of Trac tickets tagged with a specific ‘Milestone’ (WordPress version).
Note: this information can be misleading as some of the development moved to GitHub.
History
The ‘Milestone’ taxonomy was added to WordPress Trac with the development of WordPress 2.0.6. Meaning that the first major release we have data for is WordPress 2.1.
Only two versions had over 1,000 closed Trac tickets, and only four versions had over 750 closed tickets.
WordPress 3.0 holds the record with the highest number of closed Trac tickets with 1,222 tickets. Followed by WordPress 4.4 with 1,017 tickets. At the third we have WordPress 3.5 with 961 closed tickets.
WordPress 5.0 has the lowest number (168) of closed tickets as this version was mainly developed on GitHub.
